ABOUT
Horizon Choir is a dynamic community youth choir in Nevada County, CA, for singers in grades 4–8. Designed for students who love to sing and are ready to grow, Horizon Choir offers a joyful and focused environment where young musicians build strong vocal technique, musical understanding, and confidence.
Led by music educator, conductor, and professional singer, Ariel May, rehearsals are engaging, collaborative, and fun. Singers develop healthy vocal technique, music literacy, ensemble skills, and expressive performance while feeling supported, challenged, and inspired.

What to Expect...
- Explore a wide variety of musical styles, including musical theater, folk, pop, multicultural music, and classical repertoire
- Expand vocal range, strengthen the voice, and sing in harmony
- Build confidence and form meaningful connections with peers
- Learn music theory, vocal technique, and music history
- Opportunities for solos & leadership
- Open to all experience levels — no audition required
Rehearsal Info
- Tuesdays
- 3:30-4:45 pm
- Fall semester: September-December with December performance
- Spring semester: February-May with May performance
- Location: Nevada City School of the Arts
- Singers are expected to attend rehearsals regularly and come ready to focus, collaborate, and grow.
